As you've probably realised, it's been a while since I have been active on the wiki. After my last edit at Metro Exodus, the newest video keeps showing up at the top of the page. It messes with the article and makes it look worse basically. Do you know if there is any way to remove this or is it some kind of weird global Wikia feature that they implemented while I was gone?
No problem, hopefully with E3 happeneing, more info keep coming out now until next feb when the game releases. Regarding that video, i have found it on my other wiki, Cyberpunk, seems like they are using some kind of script to add videos into articles. I Have sent the wiki comunity a message regarding this for both wikis, and if we can have them removed, i argued that we have video galleries at the bottom of the page anyway, and it ruins the flow of our content. I Doubt anything will come of it, but we can always hope.
got a very lengthy responce from wikia support. They are here to stay, something about reducing load times and a bunch more rubbish. Its pretty annoying and i have seen some people use scripts to block it, but it seems to be just for yourself and not other users. Hopefully they only pop up when big trailers are released.
Sadly not surprised at the response (reducing load times? lol). Yeah, I too have only managed to find ways of blocking it locally rather than globally, which sucks. Had to happen on a page like Metro Exodus too, eh? Cheers for the help though.
No problem. I Emailed back asking for some more info, and who gets to choose the videos. Apparently its all on their end (which is a bit shit letting them control our content), but they assured me it will be official stuff and possibly down the line "lore" videos etc. Which i dont really like the idea of, the "lore" and information is all on our page, dont really need some random, non-affiliated video at the top.
Basically, the tl;dr is that the mainpage is somewhat broken and needs to be redesigned (probably without the custom css module). If you are interested in collaborating or have any thoughts/feelings please reach out to me!
It is AFTER the events of book series and videogames. It is just a little project with some factions and small amonts of station for small grop of people. I'm also writing stories, so i can write a little rivia for it... but no, it isn't in time before the 2033 year... Bt, thanks for idea, i could do it to, after i finish this project.
In that case, maybe do another thirty years in the future, Metro 2066, which was roughly when Hunter said it would be habitable to live on the surface again - do the last of the Metro dwellers (worn down to a few thousand after all the wars and mutant attacks) leaving the Metro for good to begin rebuilding civillisation. You could also include the return of the Dark Ones (remember, the Baby Dark One said he'd return one day?) to help them rebuild.
I was thinking something arond 3 years after... You must be aknowleged, that i do it us i game, not something that do it's own Novel. It's just something like MMO but in small. And i actally don't like thinking about the rebuilding civilisation, i like the Metro :D. (Sorry for grammar, i'm not from English speaking contry)
I Noticed another user commenting on his wall about minor and insignificant edits. I checked them out and Araogo603 got banned for "edit manipulation". He had gone on to several pages, and removed each letter from a sentence, then adding them back. Each letter removed, he would save the edit, making it look like he had dome somehting, and added to his edit count. That sort of behavior is not tolerated and i have banned him for 1 week. I Shall keep an eye on his future edits to see if it happens again. If so, im afraid its a year ban for him.
i suppose "boosting" would be the correct term, but yes that was what he was doing. We do not tolerate boosting, to position yourself higher in the leaderboard. This wikia is about the content first and foremost
Well Metro 2034 really isn't suited well for a video game (Based on the plot of the story). So I'm guessing they'll move foward past the events with Artyom, but they still would have to make a canon ending of Last Light or could this next game be a prequel to Last Light? Artyom is the Master Chief of this franchise, I mean the books are WAY different but based on the ending of Last Light they can't just ditch Artyom's tale, Hunter has been mentioned a lot and something just tells me that Artyom will be somehow involved in the next title...
HELLO! I just finished Metro: Last Light today and I restarted with Ranger mode on. I can't seem to find any indication of how much ammo I have left. Is that feature completely removed when ranger mode is on? Thank you, and if there are any other ranger mode mechanics that are must know could you please update me?
I just want to say I'm a big fan of the Metro series and I'm here to help.
I have a few questions about this wikia. Are a In-Universe wikia (We treat that the Metro universe is real and the wikia is more of a history book). Or a Out-Universe wikia that treat Metro as a fiction it is. One more question what is the policy on the Book canon and video game canon. It seems a lot of characters pages are intertwined. Good day.
As you may have figured out by now, the Wiki tries to be written out-of-universe - even if the content would be written either way. Thus you will see reference to E3 trailers and the such, trivia notes, and common fan speculation, rather than the metro: "lolidunno, anomalees are wierd."
As for your second question, yes indeed the canons are greatly mixed, though this is mostly do to the fact that the timeline is so royally messed up. We try, and partially succeed, in presenting all Metro cannons with the same level of bias and presidence. Some (not yet all as it's new) pages have Template:Gameicon, on them at the top-left, which signify which part cannon the entry pretanes to. Characters like Khan, however have a much bigger part in the games than he does in the novel, and the articles often reflect this.
