Venice (Russian: Венеция) refers to the flooded sections of Tretyakovskaya and Novokuznetskaya Station in the Metro. It is run by station master Simon. However, his control is limited at best and local gangsters have filled this void.
Overview[]
Venice is an independent station, nicknamed after the real life Italian city, that is widely renowned for its unique situation. Tretyakovskaya and Novokuznetskaya, nicknamed Venice by the inhabitants, has its share of problems.

Venice is an independent station run by Simon, although in reality gangsters rule the station. They are vicious, and there is no hiding it. This is seen as both a gift and a curse. Its inhabitants enjoy large economic freedoms and the station is rather open and public to visitors, as seen in Artyom's arrival. The negative side is that the lack of authority gives way to organized crime.
Flooding[]
Venice may have problems with controlling the rampant thievery within its walls but a more physical problem is that its streets are flooded and irradiated. This is has been caused by the nuclear spring on the surface as the snow and ice begin to melt. As the surface world thaws from nuclear winter, the water flows downward, causing the underground rivers that the metros are built upon to flood beyond the metro system's water pumps to handle. While the flooding may create many problems, it has proven to form a strong economic property as well. Fishing here is great, however, and a large economic advantage of being able to fish and sell means they no longer have to depend so greatly on farms from other stations, as overheard throughout the game. The fishermen are also known to use a scanner to determine whether the fishes they catch have dangerous levels of radiation.

- There is a man with a guitar who will play the one of the guitar songs of 2033, should Artyom pay him a bullet.
- The Venice bar is where Simon, Petrovich, and the Stalker meet before heading off to find a bunker in "Spider Lair".
- There is some bandit activity in Venice. However, due to the public part of Venice being relatively peaceful, it's unknown what faction exactly is controlling the station or if Venice is independent or not.
- The station is home to a brothel, where Artyom can solicit the services of a stripper there, some shops, and a rat shooting range where a lot of MGRs and a teddy bear can be earned. The bear can be given to a young boy, to earn a moral point, and the Reunion achievement/trophy.
- Venice is named after the real Italian city of Venice, known for its waterways and gondola transportation, similar to the Metro Venice.
- In the Chronicles Pack “Pavel” level, it is shown that Venice gets its electricity from the bandits, which use slave labour to spin giant dynamos and generate power.
